Product Specialist – Nutritional Chemical Products (Science Background)

An international supplier of nutritional and health-related ingredients is seeking a Product Specialist with a strong background in science. This role is well-suited for individuals with academic training in nutrition, chemistry, biology, or food science who are interested in applying their knowledge in a business-oriented, global environment.


Position Summary

The Product Specialist will support supplier communications, sales development, and regulatory compliance for nutritional chemical products. The role involves coordination between internal departments and international suppliers, requiring both technical understanding and strong organizational and communication skills.


Responsibilities

Supplier and Product Management:

  • Communicate regularly with overseas suppliers to maintain relationships and ensure alignment on product requirements and expectations

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly activity and sales reports for supplier partners

  • Manage product samples and inventory using the company’s ERP system

  • Ensure product documentation and labeling meet regulatory and contractual standards

Sales and Marketing Support:

  • Assist the sales team with technical product data, pricing, samples, and required documentation

  • Support product promotions through customer visits, trade shows, and webinars

  • Conduct market research and contribute to strategic planning for assigned product categories

Regulatory and Quality Coordination:

  • Assist in onboarding new products and suppliers, ensuring compliance with U.S. and international regulatory standards

  • Support quality assurance efforts by maintaining and reviewing specifications, safety documentation, and related materials

  • Help educate suppliers on global market trends and requirements


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline such as nutrition, chemistry, biology, or food science

  • 0–2 years of experience in a corporate or laboratory setting (internships acceptable)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Japanese language proficiency is a plus but not required
