Bilingual Japanese Business Support and Accounting Associate

NPO is seeking a Business Support and Accounting Associate with Japanese language skills.

Responsibilities: 

1.  Business Support

  • Handle mini research projects by consulting with supervisors, understanding client needs, performing data searches, interviews, on-site surveys, and preparing reports. Includes related coordination and communication.

  • Manage the briefing service help desk by distributing requests to appropriate departments/staff based on content, ensuring smooth operations, and recording each response.

  • Respond to inquiries from companies and others in consultation with supervisors. This includes conducting desktop research using web and database resources, reviewing federal and state government materials, and providing accurate responses. A solid understanding of NPO’s services and programs is required. Responses must be recorded and summarized.

  • Assist with support services for Japanese companies expanding overseas, including operational support, coordination, and preparation for seminars, exhibitions, and events under supervisor direction.

2.  Accounting Duties

  • Use internal accounting system to manage Department budgets and coordinate closely with team members.

  • Prepare payment documents in compliance with accounting rules and internal guidelines, handle journal entries, and coordinate with internal accounting teams.

  • Calculate travel expenses and verify travel reimbursement forms.

3. General Administrative Support

  • Prepare various reports and maintain the property registration ledger.

  • Handle business card creation, meeting arrangements, and similar tasks.

  • Answer phone calls and inquiries from external sources.

  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.

  • Fluency in both Japanese and English, with a strong international orientation.

  • Ability to complete tasks accurately and steadily, even during busy periods.

  • Capable of timely and precise reporting.

  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, productivity, confidentiality, and reliability.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and work well in a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with accounting software.

  • Preferred but not required: experience in marketing, business development, or sales; experience with data collection and analysis, coordination of promotional or PR events.
