International Financial Firm is seeking AVP/VP who will support custody operations and client servicing, with a particular focus on Japanese institutional and fund clients. Responsibilities include KYC and client onboarding, account administration, custody agreements, client inquiries, regulatory and management reporting, system testing, and coordination with Compliance, Risk, and other internal stakeholders.
The position requires strong knowledge of the securities/custody business, hands-on operational experience, and professional-level communication skills in both English and Japanese.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage KYC and client onboarding processes, including onboarding of fund clients (such as Cayman Islands funds), preparation of client agreements, and account opening and closing.
- Execute pre-acceptance and onboarding procedures for new custody client accounts.
- Investigate and respond to client inquiries and provide training and support to clients on custody systems and platforms.
- Utilize vendor applications, internal systems, and EUC tools to manage daily custody-related activities.
- Prepare and provide performance metrics, KPIs, and regulatory reporting data related to custody clients, accounts, and transactions.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for custody systems and system enhancements.
- Support RCSA-related activities and audits, working closely with Compliance, Risk, Business Management, and other internal stakeholders to provide required documentation and deliverables.
- Maintain and update departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in departmental and firm-wide projects as needed.
- Provide support to other areas of Custody, including Cash Control, as business needs arise.
- Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned by Management. Responsibilities may evolve based on changes in business needs and the operating environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 6–10 years of relevant professional experience; corporate title (AVP or VP) will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
- Strong understanding of the securities industry, with relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
- KYC and client onboarding
- Custody operations
- Cash processing
- Trade processing
- Experience with custody systems and client-facing custody web portals.
- Experience servicing Japanese institutional clients.
- Experience with custody agreements, fee schedules, and fee invoicing.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Professional fluency in both Japanese and English is required.
