A well-established international manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its Finance & Accounting team. This position will play a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and month-end close while working closely with management and parent companies in both the U.S. and Japan.
The ideal candidate will have strong financial analysis and reporting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment, and the ability to communicate effectively in both Japanese and English.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, including financial modeling.
- Analyze financial results, including trends and variances against budget, forecast, and prior-year results.
- Prepare financial reports, management presentations, and analysis for senior management and executives.
- Support month-end closing activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for U.S. and Japan parent companies.
- Analyze sales, profitability, inventory, production, operating expenses, SG&A, CAPEX, and cash flow.
- Develop recurring and ad hoc financial and business reports and communicate findings to management.
- Maintain and improve spreadsheets, databases, and other financial analysis and reporting tools.
- Support internal and external audits, tax-related reporting, and internal control activities.
- Coordinate with parent companies regarding financial reporting, audit, tax, and other ad hoc requests.
- Support financial planning and analysis related to business operations and subsidiaries.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to provide financial insight and support business decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of progressive financial analysis, accounting, or related finance experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing accounting, including overhead allocations.
- Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and reporting skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to analyze financial and operational data and clearly communicate findings to management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively across departments and with senior management.
- Fluency in both Japanese and English required.
