A global chemical manufacturing company is seeking a Business Development Manager to support growth in its petrochemical-based flexible packaging materials business across North and South America.
The company supplies advanced polymer and resin materials to converters and industrial customers, combining manufacturing expertise with long-term commercial partnerships.
This role is suited for a commercially driven professional with experience in the petrochemical, polymer, or related materials industry, particularly those who have successfully sold products into converters, processors, or industrial customers. The position emphasizes strong customer-facing sales capability, relationship building, and revenue generation, while requiring the ability to engage in practical technical discussions and develop deeper product knowledge over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within flexible packaging and adjacent markets
- Build and expand relationships with converters, distributors, and industrial customers
- Drive revenue growth through commercial engagement, account management, and solution-based selling
- Collaborate with internal technical and product teams to support customer needs and application development
- Support introduction and expansion of polymer/resin solutions across various packaging applications
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform business strategy
- Contribute to forecasting, pipeline management, and regional business planning
Qualifications
- Experience in the petrochemical, polymer, or resin industry
- Proven commercial / sales / business development experience, including the ability to sell into converters (directly or via distribution channels)
- Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships and drive business growth
- Exposure to flexible packaging, co-extrusion, or related applications is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with materials such as EVOH, nylon (PA), tie-layer / adhesive resins is advantageous
- Ability to engage in practical technical discussions with customers, even if not deeply specialized
- Bachelor’s degree (technical field preferred but not required)
- Approximately 3–8+ years of relevant experience, with flexibility depending on overall commercial capability
- Willingness to travel across North and South America
