Logistics Assistant (Domestic)

International chemical company is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Assistant (Domestic) to support our sales and marketing teams by coordinating domestic logistics operations, managing shipping and inventory documentation, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, freight forwarders, warehouses, and 3PL providers. This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and compliant flow of goods across our domestic supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage domestic shipping operations for both bulk and non-bulk sales, including consignment orders and plant/warehouse transfers.

  • Schedule shipments and communicate with carriers and warehouses to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery and proper documentation.

  • Prepare, verify, and process shipping documents, such as warehouse releases, bills of lading, and freight invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and regulatory standards.

  • Work closely with freight forwarders, 3PL providers, and FTL/LTL carriers to monitor shipments and resolve any issues or delays.

  • Track and manage freight costs, provide freight rate quotes, and support internal teams with logistics-related budgeting and planning.

  • Collaborate with inventory control to report and resolve inventory discrepancies and damages at warehouse locations; assist with year-end physical inventory counts.

  • File insurance claims for damaged domestic shipments and manage any return processes in accordance with company protocol.

  • Support supply ordering for warehouse operations and approve logistics vendor invoices after audit.

  • Serve as a backup to both Domestic and Export Logistics Assistants when needed, and assist with training new logistics staff.

  • Maintain accurate records and support internal teams and customers by responding to inquiries or complaints promptly and professionally.

  • Ensure all logistics processes align with Incoterms, company policies, and relevant compliance standards.

Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 1–2 years of experience in logistics or supply chain coordination, especially in domestic shipping.

  • Solid knowledge of Incoterms.

  • Experience working with freight forwarders, 3PLs, and FTL/LTL carriers.

  • Familiarity with SAP preferred.

  • Experience working with warehouses and warehouse systems is a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
