International Chemical Firm is seeking a Transportation Supervisor responsible for overseeing daily shipping activities, ensuring accurate shipments and compliance with regulations, negotiating freight contracts, and controlling costs. Acts as the main operational contact for Freight Forwarders and brokers, and serves as a backup for major inventory operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day import, export, and domestic shipping operations.
- Maintain relationships with carriers, brokers, and warehouse staff to secure optimal transportation rates and ensure compliance with shipping regulations.
- Coordinate inventory availability for orders and ensure on-time delivery.
- Supervise team performance, manage special customer requests, and handle transportation-related customer and internal feedback.
- Negotiate and manage freight contracts, track and approve costs, and handle logistics billing.
- Provide training and support to other departments on shipping processes.
- Update SOPs and manage logistics projects to improve efficiency.
- Handle backup operations in inventory management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Export supervisory experience with a freight forwarding company.
- Experience in domestic LTL, FTL, and small courier shipments and pricing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with standard office software.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
