Operations Manager

A global leading nutritional chemicals/ingredients supplier is seeking an operations Manager who will be responsible for managing inventory and coordinating logistics.

Responsibilities

  1. Inventory Management: 1) oversee the receipt, storage and distribution of nutritional supplement raw materials. 2) implement inventory control measures to minimize discrepancies and ensure accurate stock levels. 3) Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies as needed.
  2. Logistics Coordination: 1) Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including scheduling deliveries and arranging transportation.
    2) Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials. 3) Optimize logistics processes to minimize lead times and reduce shipping costs. 4) Arrange import and export shipments.

  3. Process Optimization: 1) Analyze existing operational processes and identify areas for improvement. 2) Develop and implement strategies to streamline workflows and increase efficiency. 3) Utilize technology and automation tools to enhance operational effectiveness.
  4. Team Leadership: 1) Supervise and mentor a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and performance management. 2) Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the operations team. 3) Lead by example and promote a safe working environment in accordance with company policies and regulations.
  5. Quality Assurance: 1) Ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards for handling nutritional supplement raw materials. 2) Implement quality control measures to maintain product integrity and safety. 3) Investigate and address any quality issues or customer complaints in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a distribution or logistics environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.  Working knowledge of Sage.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in the nutritional supplement industry is a plus.
