International Bank is seeking a Business Analyst who will be supporting Loan Operations Department by providing enhanced accuracy, stability, and efficiency in processing workflows. The individual will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations by initiating and/or participating in all systems related projects, maintaining and enhancing End User Computing Applications (“EUC”) and for acting as a liaison between the Loan Operations and IT departments. Ideal candidate should be detail-oriented with a strong technical background and experience with project management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions.
  2. Analyze existing software applications to understand and document functionality. Translate business needs and requirements into technical specifications.
  3. Periodically participate in day-to-day operations to better understand the workflows within the department in order to perform assessments, write specifications, create test scenarios, and testing.
  4. Responsible for development, maintenance, automation, and enhancement of workflows. Facilitate the development, design, and maintenance of Excel and Access templates as well as SQL queries, utilizing SQL programming languages.
  5. Coordinate and liaison on behalf of Loan Department with IT Department, and other departments, when necessary, for revisions, developments, and enhancements of new and existing software applications.
  6. Maintain documentation regarding various projects, processes, and operations.
  7. Achieve departmental cost savings through the prudent use of resources. Prevents potential liabilities by adhering to procedures and regulations.
  8. Support changes in system permissions for new hires, resignations, and other instances where a change is required.
  9. Assist in conducting periodic reviews and other system risk activities.
  10. Participate in the Loan IQ Project when the Bank implements Loan IQ by revisiting processes and workflows, creating and testing scenarios, providing training, updating manuals, etc.
  11. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Your Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or its equivalent, with 5+ years of relevant work experience in a financial institution.
  2. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, SharePoint, Teams, SQL and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Intermediate programming skills and experience with Excel and Access.
  3. Business Analyst and Project Management (Waterfall and Agile) experience are required.
  4. Loan operations experience is preferred, but at a minimum, basic knowledge and understanding of the workflow of bilateral / syndicated / agency loans is essential.
  5. Experience with Loan IQ (version 6 or later) is highly desirable.
  6. Demonstrates critical thinking skills and a strong ability of working with others.
  7. Ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to support proposed strategies and process improvements.
  8. Resourceful and ability to develop creative solutions to problems.
  9. Experience in testing and mapping various business processes and protocols.
  10. Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a plus.
  11. Excellent time management skills.
