Asset Management Associate – Power Investment

International Energy and Power Investment Firm is seeking an Asset Management Associate who will support a wide range of activities related to their operating gas fired, and solar power plants.

Responsibilities

Finance:

  • Support analysis of annual budgets for existing assets and perform periodic variance analyses
  • Review financial models for existing assets to evaluate variance between actual and forecasted figures in the models; update model data to recalibrate expectations for financial performance of the existing assets
  • Develops reports and supports other team members in tracking, monitoring and reporting on the existing assets’ performance for investors and responds to inquiries
  • Analyze power and gas market (price, traded volume etc), to detect areas for revenue improvement or risk mitigation opportunities
  • Provide personal input to supervisors and team members regarding modeling, analysis and risk management
  • Develop other ad-hoc analyses as needed

Other:

  • Perform work and provides general professional services in the field of Power Generation
  • Work on special projects as needed
  • Create special reports as needed
  • Perform administrative, office functions or nonmanual work directly related to general business operations
  • Respond to requests for information in a manner that maintains smooth work flow, meets deadlines, responds to expedited requests

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Engineering, Mathematics, Economics) or coursework in Finance or Accounting
  • 0-3 years’ experience professional work experience
  • Experience in the energy industry is beneficial, but not required
  • Experience with standard financial metrics and analyses (NPV, IRR, DCF models, accounting) preferred, but not required
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Logical verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Ability to understand basic financial modeling concepts
  • Available to business travel (10%)
